Muon Space Raises $250 Million to Accelerate Large-Scale Satellite Constellations

U.S. satellite manufacturer Muon Space has raised $250 million in Series C funding, bringing its total equity financing to more than $386 million.

The round was led by Eclipse Capital, with participation from Google, Salesforce Ventures, Wellington Management, I Squared Capital, Woven Capital, and other existing investors.

Muon Space will use the new funding to expand satellite production, accelerate constellation development, and advance new spacecraft platforms and payload technologies.

The company has launched 11 satellites to date, including seven in the first half of 2026, with another 50 satellites currently in development. Its programs include FireSat, developed with the Earth Fire Alliance, as well as projects involving Sierra Nevada Corporation and Hydrosat.

Muon Space describes its business model as a “Mission Foundry”, bringing mission design, spacecraft manufacturing, payload integration, software, operations, and data services together to help customers deploy complete satellite systems in months rather than years.

In June, Muon Space unveiled Condor-Ultra, a high-power spacecraft platform designed for large-scale constellations and applications including communications, Earth observation, and in-orbit computing.

One development particularly relevant to the satellite communications industry is Muon's plan to integrate Starlink connectivity into its spacecraft architecture, using Starlink for in-orbit communications and data transfer.

The move highlights a broader trend: Starlink is expanding beyond ground-based broadband and becoming part of the wider space infrastructure ecosystem.

As satellite constellations move toward hundreds or even thousands of spacecraft, the demand for scalable satellite manufacturing, connectivity, computing, and deployment infrastructure is likely to grow rapidly.
